Our Summer camp in July 2022

The holidays are coming for everyone… 😎

In July, we are all going on summer camp together! 🥳

It’s been more than 3 years since our 420 children went on holiday. 😱 3 years… 😱 The strict lockdown for the children during all this time has blocked them in the centers: no holidays, no summer camp. 😩

Let’s imagine the excitement of this year!!! 😜🤩 The summer camp is one of the highlights of the year for our 420 street children. Some of them discover the sea and the sand for the first time in their lives.🏖

10 magical days of games and activities between friends, brothers and sisters as a real family. 💥😘

❤️ We need to help to offer this summer camp to the children ❤️

👉 Holidays for 1 child = 2 220 PhP = 40 € 👈

Our new projects for 2022

Massive poverty in Metro Manila due to pandemic ..

The situation today on the streets and in the slums reflects massive poverty, it is clearly a question of survival for many families. The pandemic and endless lockdown have a devastating effect on employment. Prostitution is everywhere, in particular in the port zone of Manila, at a level never seen before in 25 years. As expected, our educators on the street have met more abandoned children. With everyone’s help, we hope to open new homes in 2022 to meet this unparalleled emergency. From the bottom of our hearts, Thank You.

Gloria Recio – deputy director of the foundation in Manila

To meet the needs of the poorest in Metro Manila, in 2022, we plan to : 🚀

Street children program :

  • Open a second shelter for girls with special needs (at the beginning of the year)
  • Open a 7th shelter for boys (buying a new house)
  • Open a 6th shelter for girls (renovating a house we have already)
  • Buy 2 passenger vans for the foundation

Slum children program :

  • Open a new day care center in a very poor area where the needs are huge (at the beginning of the year)
  • Renovation and expansion of our day care center at Aroma
  • Move our day care center John-Paul 2 in Catmon  : build a new center

Street children, children with disabilities, elders abandoned, children in the slums … we want to extend our help as far as possible to the ones in need of Metro Manila.
Our priority is always to focus on the family atmosphere in the whole foundation.

We need you to realize these great projects,

Thank you so much ❤️,

TNK Family

Massive poverty, our homes are overflowing

The situation today on the streets and in the slums reflects massive poverty, it is clearly a question of survival for many families. The pandemic and endless lockdown have a devastating effect on employment. We have seen that more poor families have become dysfunctional: parents do not hesitate to go farther away to look for necessities and beg on the street, abandoning their children.

Inspirational life choices : our staff in the slums

Among the 200 staff at the foundation, we are happy to have a small team which takes care of the programs for the children of the slums. Rina, Sally, Virgie, Tina and Nikki all live in the slums. It is not because they don’t have the choice, no, it is a true life choice. They could have moved, yet they chose to stay in the slums to live with their family. This commitment is vital for the foundation, and we are even more aware of it during times of crises. In particular during the endless and uninterrupted lockdown in The Philippines. Due to health restrictions and military barrages, many NGOs had to stop their help. Thanks to our teams living in the slums, we were allowed to continue. Our action was limited but terribly useful, focusing on handing out meals, many families having only one meal a day, the one offered by the foundation. This daily commitment is inspirational in its simplicity: committing means giving part of yourself. This truly discrete team in the slums is so precious for the foundation.
